My wife (screenwriter and producer Danielle Tinker) and I drew inspiration for the story from the experiences of a onetime flatmate of ours. We secured funding from an initiative providing filmmakers with the opportunity to garner a broadcast credit. It was an ambitious shoot with multiple locations and filmmaking techniques as well as a debut performance from our lead actor, Mit Lade. Fortunately, our lead actress Melissa Pengilly was quite experienced and really helped me with the process as did my directing mentor for the project Bill Bennett. He graciously offered me an insight into the methodology of an experienced and accomplished feature film director, much of which I was able to put into practice on this short and continue to use in my career.
